As the summer intern for the JTEDC it is my responsibility to help manage day to day operations of the JTEDC office. I have created a newsletter and it is my responsibility to create and send it out each month. I am also responsible for attending JTEDC board meetings, city council meetings, and Junction Tourism board meetings.
My Achievements at the JTEDC
My achievements at the JTEDC include improving my customer service skills, developing and maintaining professional relationships, networking with local business owners, other government entities and economic development council members throughout the state of Texas. This internship has helped me develop business professional skills such as attending board meetings and communicating to the board members clearly and effectively. I have also implemented a monthly newsletter that has been sent out for three months and has already become a very successful marketing tool.
My Experience at the JTEDC
My pay here at the JTEDC is $10 an hour, and the benefits of this internship include networking with the local businesses and other local entities. I have also had the opportunity to travel to Dallas for a training workshop and received my Open Meetings Act and Public Informations Act certifications.
